Early detection and prevention of diseases

“The Health Service of Castilla-La Mancha carries out activities related to health care, research, healing and rehabilitation, diseases and health promotion”. Its objective was to ensure the professional follow-up of patients in the detection of a specific disease using the Bonita platform.

Early cancer screening is an arduous task in the area of health today. For this purpose, SESCAM and Bonitasoft, developed a successful project characterized by a flexible system with process-based connectivity; the solution allowed the connection between information systems at each stage of disease detection which connected to the application.

To successfully develop this solution, the number of agents involved, multiple applications, process adjustments based on results, and the centralization of information in a system that would enable clinical and epidemiological data to be obtained had to be considered.

Thanks to this project, it is now possible to initiate the process of early detection of colon cancer in the asymptomatic phase and thus increase the survival rates of each patient. For the technology team the challenge was to avoid specific systems and hard integrations; implement emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, among others.

Currently the processes are unified throughout THE SESCAM, the information is recorded in the patient’s medical history epidemiological data, alarms, indicators, statuses and listings for users to access from the application.

In this way, Bonita was the platform that allowed the modeling of processes for standardization, automating them and improving their efficiency.
